Easter and Spring Break

Even mom and dad got to dye some Easter Eggs this year.

We headed over to WV for some fun during Spring Break.  We had planned on skiing since there was still lots of snow at Wisp, but they closed the ski resort part.  Luckily we still could go tubing.  I couldn't believe how much it snowed on us!  This winter really is just dragging on now.

We had a massive Easter Egg hunt in my parent's huge yard.  This year we got smart too, and color coordinated the eggs so that Ryley could only get the pink and purple eggs, Jensen got blue and green and Evelyn was only supposed to pick up the yellow and orange ones.  Wow!  It worked so well I'm going to do that every year!  No more, "Stop that, let Evelyn get the easy ones on the ground!"  It sure was a bitter cold day for egg hunting though.

I love my Dad in the back ground doing a nice open-mouthed back scratcher with a twist on the trampoline.

 Evy found the golden egg.

Apparently we've collected a lot of plastic eggs over the years and each kid got to find 42.  Ryley's at a loss here of where to find the last dozen.  She stubbornly refused any hints.

A tree had fallen down in their yard so Dad let me help cut it up.  Chain saws are fun!

Then, of course, we had to have a bonfire and roast marshmallows.

 Evelyn looks like Count Chocula.

Ryley stuck a robin egg inside one.  Good idea.

Roasting the perfect marshmallow takes lots of concentration.

Ryley invented an Easter game for us to play.  Pin the beak on the chick!

Another fun part of spring break was watching the Ten Commandments movie.  We watched it in half hour segments each night.  Surprisingly the kids loved it and looked forward to it every night.  What an amazing scripture story!

Late Spring Snow Storm

Winter was so wimpy this year with hardly any snow, and now that we're ready for spring we get hit with a snow storm.  It was nice snow and there was plenty of it to have a good time.  The kids were happy to get out of a day of school.

Don't we have a lovely view of the freeway from out back yard.

St. Patty's Day Fun

Family Fun Magazine crafts of course.

Frogs

We got a surprise weekend of warm weather a couple of Saturdays ago and the frogs came out in masses!  On our hike there was a big pool of stagnate water that was so loud with croaking it sounded like traffic.

We even found a tree to climb!  Bonus!

Skiing

We took advantage of the Monday deal days at the ski resort by my parents place out in WV.
One of my favorite parts of parenting is watching the kids learn something new!  Evelyn was the cutest thing in the world on her tiny skis.  Ryley and Jensen are almost too fast to keep up with now.  Luckily my Dad got to come with us so we had an adult for each kid and could keep track of them all.

Evelyn turns 3

Evelyn decided on a butterfly theme.

We did a little party with the preschool kids.  They could hardly see out of the masks, but they didn't seem to mind and wore them around for the whole treasure hunt.

Ryley had another violin concert.  The pieces she's playing are getting more and more complicated!  Since we'd made Jensen a Cello shape on after-concert refreshments, we had to make Ryley a violin shape on her refreshments too.

The recital hall had poor lighting, so you can't see much, but you can listen at least.
