Easter and Spring Break

Even mom and dad got to dye some Easter Eggs this year.

We headed over to WV for some fun during Spring Break.  We had planned on skiing since there was still lots of snow at Wisp, but they closed the ski resort part.  Luckily we still could go tubing.  I couldn't believe how much it snowed on us!  This winter really is just dragging on now.

We had a massive Easter Egg hunt in my parent's huge yard.  This year we got smart too, and color coordinated the eggs so that Ryley could only get the pink and purple eggs, Jensen got blue and green and Evelyn was only supposed to pick up the yellow and orange ones.  Wow!  It worked so well I'm going to do that every year!  No more, "Stop that, let Evelyn get the easy ones on the ground!"  It sure was a bitter cold day for egg hunting though.

I love my Dad in the back ground doing a nice open-mouthed back scratcher with a twist on the trampoline.

 Evy found the golden egg.

Apparently we've collected a lot of plastic eggs over the years and each kid got to find 42.  Ryley's at a loss here of where to find the last dozen.  She stubbornly refused any hints.

A tree had fallen down in their yard so Dad let me help cut it up.  Chain saws are fun!

Then, of course, we had to have a bonfire and roast marshmallows.

 Evelyn looks like Count Chocula.

Ryley stuck a robin egg inside one.  Good idea.

Roasting the perfect marshmallow takes lots of concentration.

Ryley invented an Easter game for us to play.  Pin the beak on the chick!

Another fun part of spring break was watching the Ten Commandments movie.  We watched it in half hour segments each night.  Surprisingly the kids loved it and looked forward to it every night.  What an amazing scripture story!
