West Virginia Fun

There's a little pond by my parents house that has lots of blue gill waiting to bite a hook.  The kids were reeling them in left and right.

A hungry snake wandered by and we fed him one of the small fish we caught.  It was amazing to see him swallow it whole!  A nice nature experience.
Then we found some WV pirate treasure hidden at Cooper's Rock.  We had to climb in the scary caves to get it though.  Ryley was a little nervous about that.

Then we went bike riding at Ohiopyle state park.  It was beautiful.

There's even a nice waterfall there.  Nothing on Utah waterfalls, but pretty big for the area.

As a bonus, we also found some rock climbing!  That's my idea of a good day.

Random Spring

 Evelyn, future football star.

Ryley had one of her art projects chosen to be displayed at a local art museum.  She loves art, just like her Daddy.
This is an extensive study in soil composition for preschool.
Jensen and River are quite mischievous when they're together.
 What?  It's just mud.
 Flower petal snow ball!
My good friend Autumn.  We spend a lot of time together!  Thank goodness too, or I think I'd go insane with only children to talk to.

The tree blossoms around our house put the D.C. cherry blossom festival to shame.

Cute little girls!  Me and my neighbor have been taking turns watching the girls and teaching preschool to the boys this year.  Sage and Evy are practically siblings.

Easter

Cherry Blossom Festival

This spring we did a little bike ride around D.C. when the cherry blossoms were in bloom.  We went with our good neighbor friends and it was quite the ordeal getting bikes in the car and parking and what not.  Lots of fun!  We had great weather and everything was beautiful.
Only a few fights between Evy and Sage.

Then a couple of weeks later my old room mate from college came to visit with her family and we got to wander around D.C. with them too.  It was so fun to see her again.  I felt young again.
Her daughter looks just like her.
We had the kids bring their scooters this time and that made it easier for them to do all the walking.  Everything is so spread out in D.C.!

Kierstin and her family got to stay with us one night as well and it was fun to pretend we were in college again and stay up late.  We paid for it the next day when our kids woke up bright and early.
It was Kierstins husband's birthday on April Fools Day so we made a nice cake for him.  Notice the separate piece that the plastic figurine is climbing (representing that he is still young enough to be climbing the hill).  That's Sterling's special piece.  It has about 1/2 cup of salt in that one square.  The funniest part was that he was so polite he didn't say anything for about five minutes until I couldn't hold in my giggle anymore!  We also put little critters in the kids soup for dinner that night.  Hence, Griffin eating the plastic octopus above.

Musical Children

Ryley had her second violin recital. This time it was a group concert. I couldn't put a video this time, there was just too many squeaky violins playing at one time. It's not good for your ears. It was very cute to watch though. Thanks to the Grandmas and Grandpas who could be there. Ryley appreciated the support!

Jensen recently started taking Cello lessons. (Isn't it weird that there's no "H" in that word?)
It's the cutest thing in the world to watch him play. He loves it so far. Of course it's not all fun and games, but for some reason this has been one of my favorite parts of parenting. I love watching them learn to do new things AND I love that I'm learning to do those new things with them. I can play the same songs as Ryley and I hope to be able to play what Jensen can play too!

We already have plans for Evelyn to learn the Viola... cause that's her middle name. But for now she's having fun learning to ride this cool balance bike thing. She loves it and she's pretty much got it down now and can cruise down the hill. The problem is the thing doesn't have brakes and she's quickly wearing her shoes out. Thanks to my neighbor Autumn for letting us borrow the bike for awhile!

Evelyn's 2nd Birthday

Evelyn got to have 2 birthdays for her 2nd birthday!
Lucky Girl!
One when we were in Utah and one in West Virginia!

Amy made these cute Minnie Mouse cupcakes! Evy loves the fuzzy Minnie Mouse blankey that Grandma Posey made too!

She finally figured out how to get those 2 fingers to poke up.

Good Job Ammon for another beautifully decorated cake. If a science career doesn't work out I'm sure he can get a job in a bakery.

Thanks for the fun presents Grandma and Grandpa Jensen!
